About Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta
Established in 1981, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) is located in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Yogyakarta (also recognized as Yogya or Jogja) in the middle of Java Island.
Jogja is well-known as a traditional city. The local landscape offers several mountains, beaches, and tourist spots.
There are over 90 educational institutes in Jogja – making it a popular student option. The city is also very affordable for students.
Yogyakarta also has reliable city transportation. Students can easily access the city bus transportation "Trans Jogja", using a motorcycle "ojek" or calling for a cab. Online ride-hailing services such as Go-Jek and Grab are also available.
There are affordable amenities throughout Yogyakarta at stalls, mini markets, malls, and local traditional markets. Students can enjoy Yogyakarta traditional cuisine, as well as traditional Indonesian and international dishes.
