The Joint Degree in Law (Hamburg/Istanbul) is an integrated international degree with a double degree. The course is conducted by the Faculty of Law at the University of Hamburg together with the Faculty of Law at the University of Istanbul. The aim of the course is to educate students in the areas of German and Turkish law, including its fundamentals and references to international law. The intercultural and comparative legal competence of the students should be promoted and deepened.

As the second university in Germany, the University of Hamburg enables up to 20 students a year to acquire the academic degrees "Bachelor of Laws (LL.B)" and "Hukuk Lisans" within eight semesters. It is also possible to continue your studies until you have passed the two state examinations in law.

Half of the participants are admitted by the University of Hamburg and half by the University of Istanbul. The course wants to give high school graduates with Turkish language skills in Germany and graduates of German-speaking schools in Turkey the opportunity to get to know both legal systems and to acquire the corresponding degrees. It is primarily aimed at students who already have excellent knowledge of German and Turkish at the beginning of their studies.
