The main objective of the Ph.D. is the formation of an autonomous scientist. Based on a research project defined in collaboration with a research director, the doctoral student-researcher will demonstrate his ability to develop original knowledge in a field of knowledge and will gradually acquire full control over the scientific approach to be followed to achieve the project objectives.
The museology option aims to train an independent scientist with a specialization in museology. Based on a research project that will necessarily be linked to the use of databases or museum collections, and defined in collaboration with a research director, the doctoral student-researcher will demonstrate his ability to develop original knowledge in a field of knowledge and will gradually acquire full control over the scientific approach to be followed to achieve the objectives of the project.
The research carried out must represent a significant, original and quality scientific contribution and generate scientific publications in peer-reviewed specialized journals. The graduate will have to define and conduct new original research projects himself. He must also be able to present, defend his ideas and undertake a career in cutting-edge research in academia, government or industry.
