The program offers the student a general and versatile orientation that allows him to assimilate and integrate the essential knowledge of chemistry for immediate integration into the job market as a chemist or which leads him to doctoral studies.

The diversity of career paths requires a solid basic training and requires great flexibility on the part of the student, who can personalize his study program according to his aspirations and the career envisaged.

The Department of Chemistry moved to the new Science Complex in fall 2019.

The master's degree with thesis is an initiation to research in a particular field of chemistry. It includes advanced courses and a strong research component. The researcher's learning (planning, carrying out and interpretation of experiments, improvement of scientific knowledge and development of critical qualities) takes the form of the writing and presentation of a dissertation.

The master's degree without dissertation makes more room for advanced courses. It is intended for students already engaged in the job market or wishing to prepare for it more immediately. It generally does not allow you to pursue a doctorate.
