The main objective of the Ph.D. (film studies) program is to train high-level specialists in the field of film studies. The specialists trained in this way will be able to contribute to scientific research, the conservation and dissemination of film heritage, college and university education, specialized journalism and film criticism.

Admission requirements

To be eligible as a regular doctoral student in film studies, the candidate must:
  • meet the general eligibility conditions (section XXVI) of the Academic Regulations for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies
  • hold a master's degree in cinema or cinematographic studies, a diploma adequately preparing for the studies he wishes to undertake or attest to training deemed equivalent
  • have obtained, in the 2nd cycle, an average of at least 3.5 out of 4.3 or the equivalent
