The Ph.D. in Educational Sciences is a research training program. More specifically, this program aims to train researchers in different fields, areas or areas of expertise related to the sciences of education, in particular: administration, andragogy, teaching of different school subjects (arts, French, second languages and foreign languages, mathematics, sciences, humanities), teaching and learning, higher education, the foundations of education, measurement and evaluation in education, educational intervention, remedial education, educational psychology, etc.

Admission requirements

To be eligible for the Ph.D. program (sciences of education), the candidate must:
  • Meet the general eligibility conditions (section XI) of the Academic Regulations for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies
  • Hold a degree equivalent to a master's degree from the Université de Montréal or attest to training deemed equivalent by the dean, on the recommendation of the competent authority
  • In exceptional cases, hold a bachelor's degree and, on the recommendation of the competent authority, be authorized to enroll in a special doctoral program
  • Have obtained in the 2nd cycle an average of at least 3.3 out of 4.3 or the equivalent
