To be eligible as a regular student, the candidate must meet the general eligibility conditions (section XI) of the Educational Regulations for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.

To meet the Université de Montréal average of 3.0 out of 4.3, candidates from this province must meet the following requirements:

Accepted diploma: Baccalaureate, Bachelor; duration of 3 years, or other undergraduate degree deemed equivalent.

Conditions specific to this program

To be eligible as a regular student for the MA (comparative literature), the candidate must:

  • meet the general eligibility conditions (section XI of the Educational Regulations) for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies
  • hold a BA honors in Comparative Literature, a joint BA in Comparative Literature and Film Studies, Comparative Literature and Philosophy, Comparative Literature and English Studies or a BA with major or minor in Comparative Literature, Literatures of French language, in English studies or in ancient and modern studies, or attest to training deemed equivalent
  • have obtained in the 1st cycle an average of at least 3.0 out of 4.3 or the equivalent
  • demonstrate in-depth knowledge of two languages ​​and two literatures.
