Master of Education, Language Teaching Option (M.Ed.)

The Masters in Education, language teaching option, made up of courses only, is a 45-credit continuing education program, with a double concentration, which is aimed at any education professional wishing to perfect their knowledge in the acquisition and learning of languages ​​or in teaching through children's literature and to teachers of languages, language of instruction and second or foreign languages ​​in Canada and elsewhere in the world.

• The concentration in teaching French through children's literature is aimed at all education professionals who intervene in preschool or primary school and who wish to develop their knowledge and skills in the use of children's literature for educational purposes. education. It covers two aspects: children's literature and pedagogical differentiation, and children's literature to approach written language.
• The concentration in second language teaching is intended for teachers and education professionals who work with allophone learners or in second language contexts (e.g. in immersion) who wish to develop their knowledge and skills in acquisition and teaching of second languages.

This program enables the development and deepening of targeted skills necessary for education professionals and also enables more effective integration of research into professional practice.
Its structure is designed to accommodate eligible students who have completed the DESS in language teaching.
