Goals:


Actuarial option

Complete the candidate's training in actuarial mathematics while introducing him to research with a view to doctoral studies or a career as a mathematician in various companies, including insurance companies, actuarial firms, banks, etc


Pure Mathematics option

Complete the candidate's training in fundamental mathematics while introducing him to research with a view to doctoral studies in the field or in related fields or a career in college teaching, or possibly as a mathematician in private or government enterprise.


Applied Mathematics option

Complete the candidate's training in applied mathematics while introducing him to research with a view to doctoral studies in the discipline or in the fields of application, or possibly a career as a mathematician in private enterprise or government, or research groups in computer science, neuroscience, biology, medicine, pharmacy, etc.

Admission requirements

To be eligible as a regular student for the M.Sc. (Mathematics), the candidate must:
  • meet the general eligibility requirements (section XI of the Academic Regulations for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies)
  • hold an Honors BSc (Mathematics), or a joint honors BSc in Mathematics and Economics, Mathematics and Computer Science or Mathematics and Physics, or a bachelor's degree with a major in mathematics, or an undergraduate degree preparing adequately for the studies he wants to undertake, or attest to training deemed equivalent
  • have obtained an undergraduate average of at least 3.0 out of 4.3 or the equivalent, unless the candidate is admitted on the basis of experience subsequent to obtaining the bachelor's degree.
