The general objectives are to train autonomous researchers in this discipline. The student must produce an original research work, learn to present his research results at scientific conferences and publish them in journals with peer review, be able to build an original research hypothesis and explain the path to verify it experimentally. He must have the technical skills necessary for a career as a researcher and have developed an excellent critical sense to interpret his results. At the end of his training, he should be able, following postdoctoral training, to compete for obtaining research grants in the field of microbiology and immunology.

To be eligible as a regular doctoral student in microbiology and immunology, the candidate must:
  • meet the general eligibility conditions (section XXVI) of the Academic Regulations for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies
  • hold a master's degree in microbiology and immunology, or attest to equivalent training
  • have obtained, in the 2nd cycle, an average of at least 3.3 out of 4.3 or the equivalent
