The doctoral (Ph.D.) research program in molecular biology is a multidisciplinary training program offered by the Faculty of Medicine, with the support of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

The Ph.D. program in molecular biology has 4 options. The name of the option is reported on the diploma.

General option

This program provides the candidate with solid training in the field of research and allows learning the basic methods and techniques that are at the cutting edge of the study of biological macromolecules. They target the following fields: molecular genetics, regulation of genetic activity, development, signaling pathways, modifications of nucleic acids and proteins, chemistry of macromolecules, virology, biotechnology.

Systems Biology Option

This program enables students to acquire the concepts and practice of systems biology, based on high-throughput technologies such as genomics and proteomics. This training prepares them to take up the challenge of operating at the interface of several complementary disciplines in order to study complex questions associated with multigenic diseases such as cancer.

Complex diseases in humans option

This program offers students a targeted study program reflecting and bringing together research in molecular biology, genetics, signaling and new therapies for complex human diseases.

Cellular and Molecular Medicine Option

This program offers unique training in translational research, the goal of which is to align basic research in the laboratory with the needs of clinical practice. It emphasizes the use of advanced technologies in the study of human diseases to develop new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches that are rapidly accessible to patients.
