PhD in Physics

The program trains the student so that he can carry out, independently, a cutting-edge and original research project in his field of specialization.
The student will thus develop his skills in the methodological progress specific to research and will eventually be able to propose new avenues of investigation. The student who has completed his doctorate should be able to pursue research within a team in academia or in industrial laboratories and government research institutes and possibly conduct his own research topics.
Several areas of specialization are offered to the doctoral candidate in physics, including:

• astronomy and astrophysics,
• biophysics and molecular physiology,
• condensed matter physics,
• plasma physics,
• particle physics,
• medical physics.

The methodological approach can be experimental, theoretical or numerical.
