The option in clinical neuropsychology of the D. Psy. offers training focused on clinical practice.
It aims to develop seven basic skills deemed essential to the practice of neuropsychology by accreditation bodies (OPQ, SCP): interpersonal relations, evaluation/diagnosis, intervention, research, ethics and ethics, consultation and supervision.
The D.Psy. in clinical neuropsychology includes a minimum of 42 course credits, 60 internship and internship credits and 24 credits allocated to the doctoral essay. More clinically oriented courses tailored to the training needs of clinical neuropsychology students have been created.
Several internships are planned in the program. (for a total of 800 hours). An introductory course in the relationship is offered during the first year of study. Evaluation internships in adult/senior and child/adolescent clinical neuropsychology and a supervision internship and neuropsychological consultation are done in the first and second years. Two  intervention internships in neuropsychology  are planned during the third year of the program.
During the fourth year, the student who has completed his schooling and who has submitted his doctoral essay does his internships. A total of 1600 hours in clinical psychology and clinical neuropsychology is required. Internships can take place within the Consortium d'internat de l'Université de Montréal, which brings together several affiliated establishments (CH, Rehabilitation Centres, CLSC, Youth Centres).

Admission requirements

To be eligible as a regular doctoral student in psychology, clinical neuropsychology option, the candidate must:
  • meet the general eligibility conditions (Section XXVI) of the Academic Regulations for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies
  • hold a B.Sc. with honors or with a major in psychology, a B.Sc. with honors in cognitive neuroscience (neuropsychology orientation), or a bachelor's degree deemed equivalent comprising at least 51 credits in psychology.
  • have obtained in the 1st cycle an average of at least 3.7 out of 4.3 or the equivalent
