Bachelor of Education in Special Education - Campus Laval

The bachelor's degree in education in special education trains specialized teachers who work with students at risk, with disabilities or with social maladjustments or learning difficulties in elementary and secondary school in order to promote their personal, academic and social success.

The special education teacher can either hold a special class, or intervene with a single student or subgroups of students, inside or outside the class. It collaborates with the various stakeholders in the school environment in order to support the learning of these students in different contexts (integration into a regular class, special school or class, floating count, hospital environment, post-secondary environment, etc.).

The four years of the program are organized according to the following themes:

• 1st year : Introduction to AS teaching in elementary and secondary school
• 2nd year: Choice of level of education (primary or secondary)
• 3rd year: Teaching and class management in elementary or secondary school
• 4th year : Integration into professional life (specific clienteles)
