The social worker helps individuals, families, groups and communities who are experiencing difficulties. It promotes their active involvement in solving their problems and participates in the development of the resources they need to get out of difficult situations and live in equitable environments.

The mission of the Bachelor of Social Work is to train students in an understanding and practice of social work. Social work is a profession that aims to promote social change through the satisfaction of needs and aspirations as well as an active contribution to the resolution of social problems, with a view to the emancipation of individuals, groups and communities. Thus, social workers engage with individuals, groups and communities through local, national and international actions, based on respect for human dignity, social justice, self-determination and solidarity.
