The Bachelor of English Studies relies on a rigorous and exhaustive approach that also leaves room for creativity.

Exploring several literary genres (novel, poetry, theatre, storytelling, etc.), it promotes, among other things, a coherent and innovative reflection on cultural phenomena in the English language. Composed of courses given mainly in English, it also requires the submission of work in this language.

The baccalaureate can be a springboard for access to master's and doctoral programs in English studies. It can also lead to graduate programs in:

  • comparative literature,
  • communication,
  • librarianship,
  • translation.

This program has as its main goal the specialization in the discipline of English studies. It has three objectives: the introduction to the analysis and criticism of texts (especially, but not exclusively, literary), the acquisition of knowledge of the main works of literature and culture in the English language and the improvement of the language English. This training gives access to higher education. It can also lead to a career in various fields requiring a solid command of the English language and the ability to think coherently and creatively about cultural phenomena. The Honors Baccalaureate is available to students who demonstrate, through an admission test, that their knowledge of the English language is at an advanced level upon admission to the program.
