Undergraduate Doctorate in Dentistry

The undergraduate doctoral program in dentistry (DMD) at the Université de Montréal lasts five years.
In Quebec, the profession of dentist is an exclusive practice profession. This means that anyone must hold a license from the Ordre des dentistes du Québec (ODQ) and be registered on the Order's roll to practice the profession. To obtain this permit, the graduate must pass the tests of the National Dental Examining Board of Canada.

This combined path makes it possible to integrate the master's program into the structure of the undergraduate doctoral program in dentistry. It is mainly aimed at newly admitted students who have already accumulated 40 university credits. It allows future dentists to learn about research while completing their studies in dentistry, to obtain a double diploma at the end of the 5-year course.
