This degree extends the three-year BSc Economics to four years, with the third year spent studying economics at a university in Europe. The Economics courses build on this approach, with core mandatory units in economics and econometrics as well as a broad range of optional units which give students the opportunity to study varied areas. Econometrics, which involves the analysis of economic relationships using empirical data, builds on ideas taken from statistics, maths and economic theory and is a key part of all the degrees. Years one and two cover underpinning material in economics and econometrics, and students can also choose from a range of optional modules. They will build on an appropriate language qualification with units in the language of their third-year host country. This course is recognised by the following organisations: The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).
