The course, accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and the Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing (IDM), has been developed with input from marketing practitioners and world-leading researchers and combines academic rigour with real-world application. Students will study key aspects of management theory alongside students from other management disciplines, developing an understanding of how marketing fits into our world. At the end of year one, students can choose to remain on the marketing pathway or to change to BSc Management or BSc International Business Management. In the second year, students will broaden their marketing knowledge, covering consumer insight, communications, new product development and management research, as well as taking some optional units, for example Business Law and Project Management. The final year enables students to put their skills and knowledge into practice and to tailor their degree to meet their own career ambitions through their choice of specialist units. Students will also research and write an individual dissertation on a marketing topic that they are passionate about. This four-year degree is the same as the BSc Marketing but students will spend their third year at one of University of Bristol’s partner universities overseas.
