The MSci Childhood Studies with Innovation combines arts, science, engineering, humanities and enterprise to deliver innovative products, services and ways of living. This course combines subject specialism in childhood studies with interdisciplinary breadth, creative teamwork and entrepreneurial skills. Childhood studies at Bristol provides students with a holistic understanding of children, childhood and adolescence, combining elements of education, psychology, law, social work and social policy. Students will consider childhood in the contexts of families, peers and society at both a national and international level. Topics of study include children’s rights, development, learning, play, identity, safeguarding, mental health and diversity, among others. During their studies, students of MSci Childhood Studies will learn alongside students from other innovation disciplines, such as computer science and geography, to learn and apply design and systems thinking to digital and creative ideas.
