The course is structured around a set of 4 compulsory subjects and a wide variety of optional course units. After taking course units on the core and foundational subjects of international law, you will be able to choose between many optional units in the second semester. Optional units comprise classical subjects (e.g. international courts and tribunals, human rights, law of armed conflicts, international criminal law, WTO Law) as well as unique subjects such as legal theory and global governance, law and ethics in war and warfare, argumentation before courts, security of investment and transactions, democratic transformation). Students will be allowed to customize the curriculum according to their career ambitions, needs and areas of interest. All course units are assessed by either one unseen written examination, or one coursework essay, or a combination of these two methods of assessment.
