The University of Newcastle's Master of Midwifery Studies is designed to develop an in-depth understanding of contemporary midwifery theories and practice which will enable you to demonstrate leadership within the midwifery profession and contemporary maternity services. Grounded in the provision of woman-centred, primary midwifery care, the University of Newcastle Master of Midwifery Studies combines contemporary theories encompassing a holistic view of midwifery, including the social, emotional, cultural and psychophysiological factors which influence health and wellbeing. Domestic Applicants

Applicants must be a registered midwife with:

(1) Honours; or

(2) A postgraduate qualification; or

(3) A minimum of one year's experience as documented in a professional curriculum vitae.


International Applicants

Applicants must be a registered midwife or a registered nurse working in a maternity environment in their own country, with a minimum of one year's experience as documented in a professional curriculum vitae.
