BA / B.Sc. - Dual Specialization - Economics with Data Science (3+1 years)

The main philosophy behind the program is to meet the emerging need of the students to enable them to better adapt to the changing socio-political-economic environment for a ‘just and sustainable future’. The Economics with Data Science courses offered in the syllabus essentially take a quantitative approach that will equip the students with the tools and techniques for a holistic understanding of Economics with Data Science and its application in various fields. This BA/B.Sc.  in Economics with Data Science course is designed to develop analytical and critical skills that facilitate learners to solve economic problems using logical arguments in addition to mathematical and statistical techniques. This ability will help students of Economics to flourish in different fields of academics, business, finance and consultancy among others. The teaching is provided in an interactive environment through a combination of lectures and laboratory works. While the course in the initial years shall equip the learners with economic theories and statistical tools, the advanced courses will enable them to know about different subjects of applied economics.
In alignment with the principle of the School of Liberal Studies, the course of B.Sc in Economics with Data Science takes an inter-disciplinary approach (students being required to undertake subjects from allied fields such as Mathematics, Political Science and History) to offer students hands-on training as future researchers, academics, administrators, and policymakers. Research seminars by faculty, lecture series and master classes by globally renowned academicians, workshops and conferences are directed towards that very purpose.
