The new Degree Course in Cultural Heritage, Territory, Sustainable Tourism   (Class L-1 – Cultural Heritage Sciences) is being established, starting from the 2025-2026 academic year, at the Arezzo branch of the University of Siena, dedicated to  responding to the growing demand for experts in the sector of sustainable management of cultural heritage and tourism.
The Course aims to train graduates with multidisciplinary skills, which include artistic, archaeological, historical, geographical, archival, library and demo-ethno-anthropological knowledge and represents a unique opportunity for students to develop a deep understanding of cultural heritage in relation to the historical identity of the territory and the conscious management of tourism.

Among the characterizing teachings, the course includes the use of additional scientific-disciplinary sectors, such as legal and economic-managerial ones.

The curriculum is structured to provide a broad education across a range of disciplines, combining theory and practice through laboratories, internships and fieldwork.

The course is held at the Arezzo campus of the University of Siena to provide a concrete response to the training needs of the area: the city of Arezzo, with its rich archaeological, documentary, historical-artistic and anthropological heritage, can in fact offer an ideal context for the development of studies in the field of cultural heritage, and therefore a pool of very high potential. The Course includes a three-year training path, during which students will acquire specific skills to operate in both the public and private sectors, in the planning and management of cultural activities and in the tourism sector, with particular attention to economic, environmental and social sustainability.

Career opportunities for graduates include operational roles at cultural institutions and tourism promotion companies, planning and management of cultural tourism itineraries, with a strong focus on sustainability. The course also prepares students to continue their studies in master's degrees. The Course is in line with the University's policies for the enhancement of the territory and sustainable development, and can contribute to meeting the training and employment needs of the territory, enhancing the historical and cultural identity of the city of Arezzo and surrounding areas.
