About School of Policy Planning and Development

The LL.M. Program at USC Law School is a master's degree program for students trained in law outside the U.S. The program introduces outstanding foreign lawyers to American law and the U.S. legal system and prepares them for leadership roles in the global market. Through the LL.M. Program, foreign lawyers have an opportunity to meet and interact not only with the faculty and J.D. students but also with practicing lawyers from around the world. The program runs from August through May. In addition to the LL.M. Program, USC also offers a Master of Comparative Law (M.C.L.) Program which is a one-year degree for international LL.M. graduates seeking to continue their studies in U.S. and comparative laws. Our program offerings also include a Visiting International Program for Lawyers (V.I.P.) is designed to provide international legal and business professionals with an opportunity to build a foundation in American law over one or two semesters of study on a non-credit, non-degree basis. Students can also enroll in our Summer Law & English Program which is a four-week, non-degree program that helps students prepare for their LL.M. or M.C.L. program.
