Approximately 45,000 students at the university study part-time in the evenings, at weekends and through distance learning. Around 4,000 of our students are mature students and nearly 10% are overseas students from more than 100 countries.
 

We are one of the largest providers of postgraduate education in the UK, with more than 7,000 PG students. Our postgraduate degree portfolio is among the UK’s largest and is highly regarded by employers, providing an excellent platform for research. We offer a Researcher Development Programme which gives tailored courses, events and workshops to aid postgraduate development.

We are in the UK’s top 20 universities for research intensity according to the Times Higher Education’s analysis of REF2014. Based on the REF 2014 GPA Scores, Times Higher Education ranked Strathclyde as number one in the UK for physics research.

We offer a wide range of taught programmes (Master, MSc, MLitt, MEd, MArch, LLM, PGDE, PgDip, PgCert) and research degrees (MRes, MPhil, PhD) across all subject areas. Our Centres for Doctoral Training offer four-year programmes which integrate world-class research teams with pioneering external partnerships in an interdisciplinary environment.
