    University of Warsaw is the leading university in Poland and an important, internationally recognized research centre, featured by prestigious international rankings. Founded in 1816, the University of Warsaw has a long tradition to build on, with its graduates including recognized scholars and writers, also Nobel Prize winners. With over 42 000 students and 3 800 academic staff, the University of Warsaw is also the biggest Polish higher education institution. Active international cooperation is one of the main objectives of the UW strategy, which makes it actively participate in the Erasmus and Erasmus Mundus programmes.

    UW strives to combine tradition with modernity. It constantly renovates the education system through the synergy of research and teaching, and cooperation with the environment. Examples include development of research-oriented second-cycle study programs, promotion of active learning methods and entrepreneurial attitudes (including Service Learning, Career Clinic, Skill Box, Spin Off Academy, summer schools), supporting bottom-up teaching innovations, international cooperation and development of joint / double degree studies, promoting student mobility, cooperating with external stakeholders, involving practitioners in teaching, applied diploma theses. It is planned to develop study programmes in English based on the formula of individualized didactic and research paths as well as to develop and implement a system for transferring the results of the latest research and research trends to educational programs.

    The University of Warsaw consists of 24 faculties and 30 other independent teaching and research units offering a wide range of programmes in humanities, social, exact and natural sciences and numerous interdisciplinary programmes. Among over 115 Masters and long-cycle programmes, there are 19 Masters study programmes offered fully in English:
