This joint-honours degree is split equally between Italian and History of Art. Students will develop a high level of linguistic competency in Italian alongside the study of Italian art and the culture, politics and history of one of Europe’s most ancient civilizations. Alongside learning Italian language in year 1, students will take an Italian culture module and foundational modules in Art History. In intermediate and final years at Warwick, students can choose from optional modules which range from studying the arts of modernity to exploring the cultural approaches to modern Italy. In the final year, along with other core and optional modules students may choose to research and write a dissertation bridging the two disciplines. During the year abroad (taken in either second or third year), students will normally be spent studying at an Italian university alongside Italian students and immersing themselves in Italian culture.
