The University of the West Indies has campuses at Cave Hill in Barbados, St. Augustine in Trinidad and Tobago and Mona in Jamaica. The total student body which is approximately 24,321 is distributed amongst the Faculties of Law, Humanities & Education, Science & Technology, Social Sciences and Medical Sciences at Cave Hill; Arts & Education, Medical Sciences, Social Sciences and Science & Technology at Mona; and Agriculture & Natural Sciences, Engineering, Humanities & Education, Medical Sciences and Social Sciences at St. Augustine. The Cave Hill Campus offers a wide range of programmes in the Faculties of Humanities and Education, Social Sciences, Science and Technology (Pure and Applied Sciences), Medical Sciences and Law. The Campus has in place a number of Memoranda of Understanding with international universities which offer local students the chance to go on exchange overseas, and international students the ability to spend a semester or an academic year studying in the sun. The Campus also encourages involvement in non-academic co-curricular courses and permits students to attend the University on a full-time or part-time basis.
