The Design, Merchandising and Textiles graduate program emphasizes the study of historic clothing and textiles, merchandising of textile and apparel products, and various aspects of apparel design, including both artistic and functional design options. Opportunities also exist for the study of a variety of aspects of interior design and textile science. Faculty members are actively engaged in research and creative scholarship on a variety of topics. One of the goals of this program is the integration of knowledge from the arts and humanities, natural sciences and social sciences, and the application of this knowledge to the solution of human problems and the enhancement of human potential.

Applicants must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited or recognized school is required. A cumulative minimum GPA of 3.0 on previous coursework is required for full admission (3.25 for interdisciplinary program applicants). Other English Language Requirement: A minimum score of 540 on the written TOEFL exam.
