BSc(Hons) Banking and Finance (Top-up) will equip you with a unique critical understanding of today's global economic system, exploring contemporary issues and allowing you to develop an in depth project in the field, alongside specialist modules in subjects such as investment and international finance. On successful completion you will be awarded a full BSc(Hons) degree.

You could go on to become a successful banker, accountant, or financial planner and analyst. 

Our graduates have roles with Lloyds Banking Group, HSBC, investment banks (for example, Arbuthnot Latham), GE Asset Management and Handelsbanken, as well as postgraduate study at UWE Bristol or further afield.

Through our partnership with Cranfield School of Management you'll have the opportunity to combine a strong and practice-oriented undergraduate degree from UWE Bristol with a globally recognised master's qualification from Cranfield, to accelerate your career in the business world.

Admission Requirements

You will need to meet the following Level 2 requirements:

  • GCSE:  Grade C/4 in English and Mathematics, or equivalent.

In addition to the above Level 2 qualifications, you'll need to achieve the published tariff points from your Level 3 studies prior to entry. Below is an indicative list of the main qualification types. However, we will consider any Level 3 qualifications towards meeting our entry requirements.

  • English Language Requirement:

    International and EU applicants are required to have a minimum overall IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0 with no component under 5.5 (or approved equivalent*).

    *The university accepts a large number of UK and International Qualifications in place of IELTS.

Entry requirements

You should normally hold an HND or Foundation Degree (or equivalent), or have successfully completed the equivalent of 240 UK credit points (120 ECTS credits) in a related subject discipline.
