EPFL – École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne
EPFL – École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne is one of the most sustainable universities in Switzerland this year. As well as offering students a fantastic campus location on the shores of Lake Geneva, EPFL has unique, specialised facilities including being one of the only universities to run a nuclear reactor, a fusion reactor, a Gene/Q Supercomputer, and have P3 bio-hazard facilities.
University of Basel
Another top Swiss university for sustainability is the University of Basel, which is also among the top 200 universities in the QS World University Rankings.
Students at the University of Basel can expect an academic experience that blends both tradition and innovation, with a broad range of available degree programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. The university states its key strategic aim is to develop, enhance, and sponsor research which has acknowledged standards of excellence, and to provide an atmosphere and infrastructure commensurate with that objective.
Testimonials
ETH Zurich
A leading university for sustainability in both Switzerland and the wider world, ETH Zurich scores impressively well across both social and environmental sustainability metrics in this year's ranking.
Education at ETH Zurich combines solid theory with practical application, and most degree programs build on strong mathematical foundations. For undergraduates the main teaching language is German, while most master's programmes and doctoral studies are in English.
