On March 4, the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2020 will be released. Covering 48 different academic subjects, across five broad subject areas, these rankings are the world’s most comprehensive exploration of which degree programs you should be prioritizing when applying to university.

This year’s ranking will feature 13,138 individual university programs from 1,368 universities around the world. You’ll have to wait a couple more weeks to find out which universities have performed the best, but check out last year’s QS World University Rankings by Subject in the meantime.

Here are some of the key questions you can expect to be answered in this year’s ranking:

  • Has Brexit had any further impact on the performance of universities in the UK?
  • Will the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) continue to be ranked first for more subjects than any other university…?
  • ...Or will the declining performance of American universities continue?
  • Will Chinese universities continue their rapid rate of improvement?

Every year since 2011, the QS World University Rankings by Subject have been compiled using data on research citations, combined with the results of major global surveys of academics and employers. More information about the methodology can be found here.

Discover the complete results in this year’s ranking by coming back to the site on March 4 or be among the first to hear the news by following us on Facebook, TwitterLinkedIn or Instagram.
