Coming Soon: QS World University Rankings: USA 2020
By Craig OCallaghan
Updated June 4, 2020 Updated June 4, 2020On May 20, the first-ever QS World University Rankings: USA will be released. Featuring 300 of the best four-year colleges in the United States of America, the ranking represents a landmark attempt to identify and recognize the top universities in one of the most popular study destinations in the world.
While American universities have featured in other QS rankings, this new ranking will use a brand new methodology, evaluating universities according to not only their research performance and salary uplift, but also their social impact and the efforts they are making to support the 17 US Sustainable Development goals.
The hope is that the published ranking will be a useful guide for both domestic and international US students. The latter group will be particularly interested in seeing how each university scores for diversity & internationalization - one of the four indicators being used to compile the ranking.
Ben Sowter, Director of Research at QS, said: “Our unique Employer Reputation indicator – whose dataset is based on the sentiments of over 44,000 hiring managers worldwide – ensures that student consultors both domestically and abroad are able to assess American universities based on their ability to enhance their future careers. As the global graduate jobs market becomes ever-more competitive, our research suggests that students are placing an ever-greater emphasis on this information.”
The published ranking will be released at 10am UTC on May 20, so be sure to check back then for the full results. In the meantime, you can find out about the top 100 US universities according to the QS World University Rankings, or learn more about studying in the United States.
