You won’t have to do much digging to realise the UK has strengthened its grip on the Archaeology subject rankings, with four universities in the top five. Oxford has overtaken arch-rivals Cambridge at the top of the table, with University College London (UCL) and Durham just behind.
On the other side of the Atlantic, Harvard maintains bragging rights as the highest-ranked US university. In total, over 40 US universities feature in the world’s top 200 for Archaeology.
