This one-year Sound Production top-up course focuses on developing a set of skills to help students establish a career within the rapidly growing music industry with a music industry employer, or in a self-employed capacity. This course is ideal for those who have already completed some higher education study in Sound Production of Music Technology, or Wolverhampton’s Foundation Degree (Arts) Sound Production. Throughout the course, students will develop strong business acumen and the skills needed to support music events. Students will complete a sound recording project and undertake in-depth study of live sound design, live sound reinforcement, and music for image – a particularly creative and popular aspect of the course. Students will be exposed to a wide cross section of skills relevant to gaining a foothold in the music industry, concentrating on topics such as the music business, entrepreneurial skills, music and mass communications and live sound system design.
