Elsewhere in the top 10, there’s one new entrant: the Georgia Institute of Technology is up two places to 10th.

While the very top of the ranking is dominated by British and American universities, 49 other countries are represented further down the table. The biggest climber in the top 20 is Italian: Politecnico di Milano.
