With approximately 10,000 students, the Berlin School of Economics and Law (BSEL) is one of the largest institutions of higher education in Germany’s capital city. The BSEL is distinguished by a clear focus on providing academic education strongly linked to real world skills, an intensive and diverse programme of research, high quality standards and a strong international approach. The University’s portfolio of programmes covers private and public sector business and economics, administration, law, security management and engineering. The University offers over fifty study programmes. Nearly all of them now lead to a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, have been quality controlled and bear the seal of an accrediting agency. The BSEL has also been honoured with the prestigious Total E-Quality Science Award four times in a row. Awarded to companies and universities actively implementing structural and personnel policies promoting gender equality, the Total E-Quality Science Award is a tribute to the University’s marked commitment to gender equality and equal opportunities. Prospective students can choose from over 50 accredited Bachelor, Master and prestigious MBA programmes, as well as distance study programmes and postgraduate certificates. The University has approximately 200 professors as well as a large body of part-time lecturers teaching the different subjects, from business administration, economics, sociology, administration and law to computer science, maths, statistics and engineering. Nearly all B.A. and M.A. programmes have been accredited – putting the BSEL among the top German universities in the quality assurance rankings.
