The one-cycle educational program of a Medical Doctor aims to train a competitive professional in accordance with modern international standards, who possesses theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for professional activities, guided by the principles of evidence-based medicine, uses research and communication skills, shares ethical norms and principles, professionally evolving in an ever-changing environment. Program entails 360 credits and comprises 4 phases: Phase I – Human Body Structure and Function (I-II yrs), Phase II – Mechanisms of Health and Disease (III yr), Phase III - Core Clinical Clerkships (IV-V yrs) and Phase IV – Advanced Clinical Clerkships (VI yr).
The learning process is conducted by highly qualified medical and dental professionals with academic and professional experience in Georgia, European Union, and the USA. The learning process involves all types of medical procedures via mannequins, special equipment, modern digital simulation devices (e.g. Body Interact, Anatomage, 3 Dimensional Digital Anatomy Teaching device) in the Clinical Skills Centre, simulation rooms, as well as Jo Ann University Hospital, and other contracted hospitals. The exams are of various types and focus on testing students' theoretical knowledge and clinical skills (OSCE, OSPE and other clinical skills assessment forms).
