Start date: MSc by Research - 1st October, 1st January, 1st April & 1st July.
The MSc by Research in Global Migration allows you to undertake a year-long individual programme of personally and professionally enriching research. Your global migration research project will be shaped by participation in activities such as seminars, workshops, laboratory activity and fieldwork, as well as your involvement in one of our established research groups.
The range of our current human geographical research in this area includes
  • Multi-sensuous geographies of movement and the ways they are governed;
  • The diversity of mobile experiences (labour migrations, cultural mobility, spiritual mobilities) and the divisions they produce;
  • Mobile subjectivities, socialities and politics of mobility;
  • Inequalities and power dynamics of different mobilities and migrations.
  • Rethinking care for marginalised people: different ways of com-passionate being together with mobile others;
  • Developing broader (excessive) understanding of ethical responsibility for people in need;
In the latest Research Assessment Exercise, 95% of Geography research at Swansea was judged to be of international quality, and 60% was rated as world-leading or internationally excellent.
