Admission to the bachelor's program presupposes fulfillment of the following requirements or documentation of equivalent qualifications:

  • Passed entrance exam
  • Dansk A
  • English B
  • Mathematics A

Good mathematical knowledge is central to success as a student in a science education.  Therefore, we recommend all applicants who have had one or more years break between the matriculation exam and study start, to sign up for the   Brush-up course in mathematics  , just as it is recommended to participate in  the free study activity Math 101  .  You can also look at  AAU's entrance  courses, where there is the option of single day and turbo course.

Aalborg University offers interdisciplinary studies where bachelor courses (basic study programmes) are followed by masters and Ph.D. courses (subsequent specialisation). The university offers 10 different undergraduate programmes in English across five faculties:

  • The Faculty of Humanities
  • The Technical Faculty of IT and Design
  • The Faculty of Social Sciences
  • The Faculty of Engineering and Science
  • The Faculty of Medicine


Each of the five faculties has its own schools with full time bachelor education spanning over three years and designed to prepare students for master and Ph.D. education at a high academic and international level. Since the Ph.D. programmes are focussed on training researchers, students are researching independently and being actively involved in Aalborg’s research community.

All study programmes at AAU are based on a unique model of teaching and learning: the problem based and project organized model based on real life challanges, also referred to as "The PBL Model" and "The Aalborg Model". This model has become both nationally and internationally recognized as an advanced and efficient learning model, and ot is a trademark for Aalborg University.

Aalborg University is among the world's leading universities regarding research within health technology, wireless communication, energy, computer science, innovation economics, and comparative welfare studies.
