This specialist pathway within the BSc (Hons) Sport, Physical Education and Health degree focuses on the applied place of Dance as a creative art and physical activity focusing on creative practice, teaching and performance. The design of the pathway will allow you to develop your knowledge, understanding and skilful practices in Dance alongside in depth academic and practical knowledge of physical education and youth sport. Consideration of the health and wellbeing agenda within both areas will also provide you with the skills and knowledge that will allow you to establish and sustain healthy lifestyles in others. The pathway focuses on the current place of dance in the areas of Education, Health and Wellbeing and in encouraging participation in physical activity. Through Cardiff Met’s excellent links with Industry, the application and development of dance in these contexts will be explored; there will be opportunities for you to engage in work-based learning and placement experiences over the three years that will support the development of future creative and innovative practitioners. Part Time is not available to international students.
