Our BA (Hons) Primary Education Degree with QTS is for anyone who is interested in a career in teaching, and focuses on the KS1 and KS2 National Curriculum and national priorities in education. You will learn how to teach, how to lead and you will develop your subject knowledge to give you confidence and competence in the classroom. By studying primary teaching with QTS at undergraduate level, you will explore subjects in depth and gain considerable experience before you embark upon a teaching career. At the end of the course you will have a BA (Hons) and will be awarded QTS.

You will need to have a minimum of five GCSE passes at grade C/4 or above prior to starting the course and these must include mathematics, English language and science, or recognised equivalent.*
If you have a GCSE Double Award in science, you must have a grade CC/44 or above.
You will be interviewed, and you will need to undertake Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), and Health checks.
* If you are considering taking a GCSE equivalency test, please contact University Admissions for advice before doing so.
A normal offer would be BCC at A Level or DMM at BTEC. An Access Course must include 45 level 3 credits at Merit.
It is considered that you will benefit from school experience before the course starts.

The University of Northampton’s undergraduate portfolio encompasses approximately 170 courses, including HNDs, foundation degrees, single honours degrees and the most popular – joint honours programs.
These range over a wide range of disciplines, including computing, games, visual and performance arts, engineering, fashion, journalism, media and performance, business, law, education, history, nursing and health-related disciplines, sport, psychology and criminology.

Tuition fees
Tuition fees are identical for all courses and are set at £12,500 per academic year in 2019-2020 – with just a few unavoidable exceptions: Nursing (£15,500), Occupational Therapy and Podiatry (£13,500 in both cases).

The University of Northampton charges identical fees for all its postgraduate courses - £12,750 per year in 2019-2020 – with only one exception being the Master of Business Administration (MBA) which is £13,500.
