Cheikh Anta Diop University

Cheikh Anta Diop University, commonly referred to by its French acronym UCAD, is a prestigious public university located in Dakar, Senegal. Established in 1957, it was originally named the University of Dakar. In 1987, the university was renamed in honor of Cheikh Anta Diop, a renowned Senegalese historian, anthropologist, and physicist known for his scholarly work on African culture and history.
