Tokat Gaziosmanpasa University

Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University is a transparent, participatory, entrepreneurial, knowledge and technology producing university that contributes to the economic, social and cultural structure of the region and is a preferred university. Our University, named after Gazi Osman Pasha, the Hero of Pleven, was established in accordance with Article 24 of the Law No. 3837 dated 03.07.1992 on the Amendment of the Decree Law No. 2809 on the Amendment of the Decree Law No. 41 on the Organisation of Higher Education Institutions and the Amendment of the Decree Laws No. 78 and 190. In accordance with the Law No. 7141 ‘Law on the Amendment of the Higher Education Law and Some Laws and Decree Laws’, which entered into force on 18 May 2018, the name of our University was changed to ‘Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University’.In its first establishment, our university included the Faculty of Agriculture, which was established on 01.11.1992 affiliated to Cumhuriyet University, and consisted of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Niksar Vocational School, Tokat Vocational School, Zile Vocational School, Erbaa Institute of Science and Social Sciences Institute. Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University continues its activities in Taşlıçiftlik Campus located on Tokat-Turhal highway, 9 km. away from Tokat city centre, Ali Şevki Erek Campus in the city centre and 8 districts. Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Science and Letters, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences,Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Faculty of Fine Arts, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Islamic Sciences, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Pharmacy, Erbaa Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, Erbaa Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Sports Sciences, Turhal Faculty of Applied Sciences, Niksar Faculty of Applied Sciences. There is a Graduate Education Institute for postgraduate education in our university. School of Foreign Languages, Zile Dinçerler School of Tourism Management and Hotel Management, State Conservatory, Vocational School of Justice, Almus Vocational School, Artova Vocational School, Erbaa Vocational School, Erbaa Health Services Vocational School, Pazar Vocational School, Niksar Vocational School, Reşadiye Vocational School, Tokat Vocational School, Tokat Health Services Vocational School, Turhal Vocational School, Zile Vocational School, Turhal Health Services Vocational School.Health services at our university are carried out by the Health Research and Application Centre, Dentistry Application and Research Centre and Palliative Care Research and Application Centre. The Agricultural Research and Application Centre also undertakes important tasks in the field of agriculture with its education, research and service practices. As of the education and training period, we have nearly 35 thousand students. Education continues in 120 associate degree, 79 bachelor's degree, 85 master's degree and 37 doctorate programmes. The number of academic staff is 1533 and the number of administrative staff is 2055. The academic year at our university consists of two semesters.Faculty of Education, Faculty of Science and Letters, Faculty of Fine Arts, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Faculty of Islamic Sciences, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Sports Sciences, Graduate Education Institute, State Conservatory, School of Foreign Languages, Tokat Vocational School and Research Application Centres are located in Taşlıçiftlik campus. In Ali Şevki Erek Campus in the city centre; Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, Health Research and Application Centre, Dentistry Application and Research Centre are located. There are campuses of our Faculties and Vocational Schools in the districts.
