Beijing Forestry University

The history of Beijing Forestry University (BFU) can be traced back to 1902. After over 100 years of development, BFU has become one of the most influential and prestigious universities in China. Its longstanding commitment to sustainability (with an emphasis on forestry research) and rigorous academic programs have earned high regards not only in China but around the world. Inspired by its motto of being a “Champion in Earth Stewardship and Leader in Forestry Education”, BFU cultivates a large number of forestry and ecological research experts in its many world-class programs. BFU faculty are industry experts and outstanding scholars, particularly in the field of forestry. Among them, there are 16 academicians of the prestigious Chinese Academy of Sciences.  They continue to make significant contributions to the sustainable development goals of the world through their expertise.

Beijing Forestry University also has a network of alumni of more than 200,000 individuals. Our notable alumni include: the world-renowned inventor of triploid Populus tomentosa, one of the builders of the world's plum gene map, gene training and improvement and optimization of Chinese national flowers - peony flowers and optimization scientists, as well as the world's forestry ecological restoration experts and wildlife conservation experts.
