Omar Al Mukhtar University

Omar Al-Mukhtar University (Arabic: جامعة عمر المختار‎), located in Bayda, started as Islamic university. It was founded in 1835 by the religious group Kzawip Senussi. It has grown to be a moderately religious institute to teach Principles of readings, and then to the University of Mohammed bin Ali al-Sanusi in 1961 or aspiring Bayda Islamic University. It educated students from all parts of Libya and the world, including Malta, Cyprus, Egypt, Malaysia, Indonesia, Sudan and Chad. Omar Al-Mukhtar University (OMU) consider to be the host for most graduated guys worked in other recent universities distributed in Libya.  OMU with 16 faculties with huge campus, and research carried out with target and under professional high academic staff graduated world in many University globally academic high rank university and they start many MSc and PhD programs in most faculties. OMU start a new programs deal with QS system and Quality Assurance Rules.

Quality assurance Department followed the International system under High Committee Member and they follow all facilities, and they have had the right to switch off any non qualified programs with supported by the Ministry of Higher Education. OMU has contributions in many of internal and external scientific activities through organization and supervision of conferences , symposiums and workshops in all specialties  and fields . In administrative system of OMU , there is society and environment unit which interests on social affairs and environment cooperates with governmental institutions and charitable organizations and presenting psychological support for families and students in  the difficult social conditions and also for families which they need  psychological and moral supporting that mitigates them in case of the natural disasters ,  beside that,  it participates in providing solutions for environmental problems and sustainable development  at the local or global level by experts in such area .
