UNIVA is a university system, a private Catholic university located in 10 cities of Mexico. The Universidad del Valle de Atemajac was founded in 1962. Actually, UNIVA is the largest Catholic University in Mexico.
The mission seeks:
“To influence social transformation from the Catholic worldview, preparing people in their human, scientific, technological and professional dimensions, to be leaders with a spirit of service, committed to the common good and sustainable development”
There are 10 geographic campuses in 10 different cities in the country: Guadalajara, Colima, Lagos de Moreno, La Piedad León, Querétaro, Tepic, Uruapan, Puerto Vallarta, Zamora, and one virtual campus: UNIVA Online. There are a large variety of academic programs in the different levels: masters degrees; bachelor degrees; online programs; postgraduate programs; graduate, workshops and courses; baccalaureate programs, and a special bachelor program for people that needs to work and study at same time.
UNIVA holds liaison with over 300 international universities around the world for mobility, exchange and global summer; each year professors from international partner universities visit the diffrent campuses for student courses, research programas and networking activities.
UNIVA has held the National Accreditation of Excellence, granted by the National Association of Private Universities and Higher Education Institutions (FIMPES). And is one of the 38 Mexican Universities holding the maximum accreditation for a private institution in the country.
