University of Al-Qadisiyah

University of Al-Qadisiyah is one of the Iraqi governmental universities, founded in 1987.

Location

The university main campus is in the city of Ad Diwaniyah (the ancient city of Nippur in old Mesopotamia), 180 km south of Baghdad. Ad Diwaniyah is very friendly city. The University provides a semi-furnished accommodation to students enrolling in its program. The medical campus lies close to Ad Diwaniyah Educational Hospital where colleges of Medicine and Nursing are there. College of Agriculture campus is in Noria 15km from Ad Diwaniyah city.

Academic Staff

The university has more than 1400 full-time professors in all fields of knowledge with high reputation in teaching, research and outreach. In addition to approximately 200 part-time professors. There is notably increasing of staff with PhD from universities in UK, USA, EU and Australia.

Research

The University has research Centers and Units for various majors to direct research plans  to serve the society. in 2019, the university has conducted more conferences to tackle many issues related to local and global society. More than 800 papers published through the years 2014-2018 in worldly well-known publishers. The university also has 8 publishing journals in all fields of knowledge. The university H-index is 28 and citation increasing into 4551 in 2018.

Students

Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs are highly competitive at the university. More than 93 undergraduate and 45 postgraduate programs distributed on the eighteen colleges. The university enrolls local, regional as well as international students every year. 

Industrial Cooperation

The university researchers cooperate with local industry in private and public sectors to tackle the most recent issues.

Internationalization

The university has partnered with many universities across the world. WALADU, EDUU, and Friedrich Alexander are the major partnerships for this year to developing curricula, research, training, and archaeology.
