The World Islamic
Sciences and Education University enjoys a
legal personality with financial and administrative independence. The Chairman
of its Board of Trustees is His ‘Royal Highness Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad,’
Personal Envoy and Special Adviser to His ‘Majesty King Abdullah II.’ The
university is owned by and falls under one of the departments of the ‘Royal Al al -Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought.’ One of its most important goals is to
provide the Arab and Islamic world with capable specialists in everything
related to faith, Sharia, science, thought, civilisation and Islamic arts and to
highlight the bright image of Islam. Additionally, the university contains 11
Deans, each of whom leads a group of academic and scientific departments. Furthermore, the university contains a collection of institutes and centres for
research, education, training and consultancy. Also, there are 18
administrative departments present in the university, and each administrative
department has a group of employees that organises work as best as possible.
Additionally, there are six centres to provide the greatest services to all
individuals, the most important of which are the Computer and Information Centre
as well as the Consultation, Training and Community Service Centre. Likewise,
the university has a library that holds the most appropriate books and
references that students and faculty members need to write their research.
There are currently 100,000 books covering all information serving the local
community.
As well, the university grants scientific cycles at the level of bachelor,
master and doctorate. The university benefits from all the exemptions and
facilities enjoyed by ministries, government departments and public official
institutions. Finally, the university has an independent budget approved by the
university’s board of trustees based on the university president’s
recommendation.
The World Islamic Sciences and Education University seeks to combine knowledge and
virtue based on faith and wisdom so that it will be a modern, comprehensive and
pioneering Islamic university in its methodology and study plans. This is all
with a goal to distinguish itself as one of the most prestigious universities
at the Arab, regional, Islamic and global level, by being an example for
researches of Islamic civilisation and Islamic thought. It also bears the
additional goal of graduating excellent individuals taught in various legal,
humanitarian, human, and natural scientific disciplines, arming them with
science, faith and high professional ethics in accordance with the teachings of
the tolerant Islamic Sharia.
